Eighth graders read John Steinbeck’s The Pearl as part of their summer reading. In computer class they used Inspiration, a graphic organizer to organize the main features of the book and were then asked to present the book digitally, using whatever tool they wished. Many students chose to use GoAnimate or DomoGoAnimate and created their own animations of the book, while others used Toondoospaces to make cartoons and we even have one video reenactment. The animation tools were new to this group, but they figured it out on their own, struggling at times with balky websites and the typical misfortunes of using new technologies. Most of the projects are finished, with a few more to be added later in the week. Click on the links on the left to view the projects.
